What is IIT JAM exam?

The full name of this exam is Indian Institute of Technology, Joint Admission Test for MSc. 

IIT JAM is an all India level online enterance exam which is conducted every year by IITs.

This exam is conducted for admission to MSc in IITs and post graduate courses and integrated PhD Courses of Indian institute of science (IISc).  

Many National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and (Central funded technical institutes (CFTIs) also accept this course for MSc admission.

Till now IIT JAM exam used to be for six science subjects but from now on JAM 2021 there will be 7 subjects.

In which Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematics statistics, Physics and economics aso included. 

In these, the Economics subject has been added as the seventh subject. 

Colleges participating in this exam conduct IIT JAM on rotational basis. IISc Bangalore will conduct IIT JAM 2021. 

The start date for filling the IIT JAM online application form was 10 September 2020 and last is 15 October 2020. 

This exam will be held on 14th February 2021. And this computer based test is going to be done in 2 sessions. 

The first session will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. And in this session there will be papers of biotechnology, physics and mathematical statistics subjects.

And Second session will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. And in this session, there will be paper of  chemistry, economics, geology and mathematics subjects papers. 

Eligibility criteria for IIT JAM exam.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree to appear at IIT JAM 2021. In which it is necessary to have at least 55 percent aggregate marks.

The minimum aggregate marks are 50% for SC, ST and PWD category candidates. Such candidates who will appear in their graduation exam in 2021 will also be eligible for this exam.

If it is about the age limit, then there is no age limit for appearing in the IIT JAM exam.
